What I do
I split my time between two very different night skies. On Gozo, in the Mediterranean, I run astrophotography workshops and deep-sky imaging sessions, and deliver education work for schools and councils, helping people take their first proper photograph of the night sky. Further north, I guide aurora expeditions through the Arctic’s polar nights, work that has taken me and my camera into some genuinely wild places over the years.
My field work has been featured in The Guardian, Sky & Telescope, and Wanderlust, and I’ve contributed to BBC and ARTE television productions along the way.
How I got here
Before astronomy became the day job, I founded and led The Neuropathy Trust. That earlier chapter still shapes how I approach this one: a preference for plain, honest communication over hype, and a belief that good instruction should be built for whoever’s in front of you — beginner or expert, curious child or seasoned imager.
Where I’m headed
I’m currently building a new venture, Northern Lights Guide, alongside Alex Keen, focused on small-group aurora expeditions. It sits alongside my own Mediterranean-based workshops and education work, rather than replacing them.
